This yeard, for the third time, Digital Success Programme (Digitális Jólét Program) organises the largest professional conference of Hungary on smart cities. The two-day event Civitas Sapiens ‘21 is complemented by a V4 Summit element, in line with Hungary’s presidency of the V4 group. The conference is arranged as a hybrid event, offering a platform for V4 members to present good practices both from the fields of public administration and business.
The use of innovative, digital solutions is necessary for the development of all areas where people live, from large cities to farm areas. Running municipalities, providing public services, and making long-term strategic plans – all this requires a complex and horizontal attitude.
The basis of the improvement of digital cities and regions is cooperation between the government, municipalities, actors from business, science and civil society, and members of local communities. Becoming a smart city requires unique planning; then, due to technological development, continuous adjustment and monitoring.
Outcomes of digital innovation – immediate information and possibilities of analysis, interconnection, IoT, data management etc. – open up new possibilities, such as dynamic service management, efficiency improvement or data-driven decision making.
As part of the conference, we present a Smart City Market, a state-driven validation space which offers municipalities all necessary information on a number of developments and products before their actual local implementation. As such information, we present costs of all developments and their effects on society, as well as their technical parameters, and the results of a full legal and economic stability assessment of the product and its supplier. This way, municipalities can make fully informed decisions and may even start a cooperation in order to purchase a product that has a modernisation potential for a larger region.
The large-scale V4 conference and expo offers mutual exchange between municipalities and business actors, whose innovations contribute to inhabited spaces becoming smarter and more sustainable.
Civitas Sapiens ‘21 gives a true snapshot of current smart city trends on a Hungarian and a global level, and an insight to a number of already functioning models.
The event also enables international dialogue, its main foreign partner being the Czech Republic, with its presentations and exhibits providing up-to-date information on smart solutions by Czech actors.
LOCATION
The conference will take place in Budapest, at the Ludovika campus of the National University of Public Services.
Address: H-1082 Budapest, Üllői út 82.
